2011 RAF Families Federation Annual Report has now been published. Last year was a challenging one for RAF personnel and their families and the Federation team has been kept extremely busy with the many issues family members bring to our attention. Policy Change to the Residential Support Scheme

Policy Change to the Residential Support Scheme

The Residential Support Scheme provides help with the accommodation costs of learners aged 16 and over, who need to live away from home to study because their course is not available locally. The MoD have worked with the Young People Learning Agency and the Department for Education to address an existing unfairness for those serving overseas and have now secured an agreement to make them eligible for RSS

Fisher House to be built at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity is working in partnership with American charity Fisher House Foundation and Help for Heroes. Mike Hammond said: "The QE Hospital is the primary receiving unit for all injured British military personnel and so families can travel many miles to be with their loved one.
