Moving out of SFA

Your Responsibilities

As the licencee you are responsible for notifying the HIC/Housing Provider/Station Housing Officer that you will be vacating your property within 14 days of receiving your Posting Notice. Your move-out will be managed by DE through the Housing Information Centre (HIC).

Handing Over the Property

The process includes the mandatory pre-move out inspection and handover of the property. You will be expected to leave the property in a condition which meets the Move-Out standard, which is essentially the same as the Move-In standard.

To help in the process Defence Estates have published three leaflets on Pre- Move out:

For England and Wales

For Scotland

For Ireland

Charges

Please note that you may be charged for any repairs that arise from damage not considered to fair wear and tear. More information on the move-out procedures can be found on the DE Website.

A General Guide

Defence Estates issue a useful general guide on Moving out of SFA.
