Family Members

There is much support for families both from the RAF and national organisations but don't forget that the RAF Families Federation is there for all family members. Anyone whose life is affected by having a member of the family in the RAF can contact us, be it husband, wife, partner, children, grandparents, brother, sister. If you have concern about something that is a direct result of a member of the family being in the RAF then do Contact us.

Parents

Gingerbread offer help and advice for lone parents.

Parentline Plus is a national charity that works with parents because they are the most important people in a child's life.

Parent Channel A site offering short video clips on all aspects of bringing up children between the ages of 5 and 19.

Got a Teenager is a new website from Parentline Plus.

Men

Families Need Fathers is an organisation that looks to support fathers separated from their children.

Fathers 4 Justice began by supporting dads but now actively supports both parents with a third of enquiries coming from mothers. 

Women

Women's Aid works to end domestic violence against women and children.

bpas is a leading provider of abortion advice, emergency contraception and sterilisation issues.

The Government website have advice and information on all aspects of having a baby.

Tommy's is a charity determined to end the heartcache caused by premature birth, miscarriage and stillbirth. They fund a national programme of research, education and information aimed at understanding and preventing these tragedies.

Children

11 Million This is a new website from the Children's Commissioner for England and works to make sure that adults in charge listen to the views of the 11 million children across England.

Childline is an organisation dedicated to the welfare of children. They can help children through a whole range of issues and have a line to call: 0800 1111.

Children in Scotland promotes policies that improve the quality of life for Scotland's children and their families.

The Children's Society takles the root cause of problems chidren face by the environment they are shaped by: right of education, youth justice and being safe on the streets.

Kidscape is a registered charity committed to keeping children safe from harm or abuse.

Relationships

Relate over advice on all aspects of marriage and partnerships, they also have books for sale, courses to attend and experts online.

Lesbian/Gays

Proud2serve is a website for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Service personnel or family members, supporting them with an active forum and rsources for family and colleagues.

Family and Friends of Lesbian and Gays FFLAG is a national voluntary organisation which is a registered charity with 18 telephone helplines across the UK and parents’ groups which hold regular meetings. FFLAG is dedicated to supporting parents and their gay, lesbian and bi-sexual sons and daughters.

The Elderly

If you are concerned abouth elderly friends, neighbours or relatives Age Concern have some useful advice.

Crime

Victim Support is an independent charity which helps people cope with the effects of crime. The charity provides free and confidential support and information to help deal with your experience.
