You are here : Introduction / A Listening Ear
Sometimes all that is needed is someone to listen. Whatever you are going through, whether big or small don't bottle it up. If you are feeling worried about something, feel upset, distressed or confused - talk to someone.
The Padre is a useful first port of call who will understand fully the pressures of Service life and of course anything said to them is in confidence.
If you would prefer to talk to someone a little more removed from the Service then SSAFA Forces Help have social workers at most RAF Stations and they also have an online Confidential Support Line.
The RAF Benevolent Fund have teamed up with Relate to provide a counselling service especially for RAF Personnel their partners and families. The first 6 sessions are free irrespective of income and there is also the option of online support. To go to the website Click here.
The Samaritans provide confidential, non-judgemental emotional support, 24 hours a day for poeple who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair.
As a Service person living in SFA, have you ever had to take leave to wait at home for a contractor? If so, please answer 'yes' and click on the brown ‘Have your Say’ block and let us know how much leave you have lost this way in the last 12 months.
